Method One

Limited Purple Vinyl Release. It’s a little known fact, but Method One was actually one of the the first American drum & bass artists, getting his break way back in 1994 with a remix for chart-toppers Deee-Lite. With that out of the way, Method One marks his debut on Auxiliary in fine style. Four cuts with all the hallmarks of what makes music on Auxiliary that little bit special.#5.1 sets the tone nicely, with its bell-like tones set against a wash of pads. Introducing a more aggressive 80’s retro synth lead later, the track evolves and changes the mood with ease. #5.2 strips things down to the bare bones before rebuilding. A lesson in subtlety and sub bass. #5.3 is Method One’s opus to date. An amazing example of how to take this 170 sound and turn it into a proper piece of music. #5.4 follows on from 5.3’s full on musicality, by dropping the BPM and taking things back to yesteryear with a crescendo of synth lines, pads, and keys to pull at the heartstrings.
