Mute & Mako are Andrew Wilson, Ben Wilson and Stephen Redmore, who hail from the county of Suffolk and have a deep love for all things bass.
Suffolk has a long history in drum & bass, with Digital, Klute, Photek, Certificate 18 and the infamous Red Eye Records all giving this sleepy county something to shout about. Red Eye Records introduced the trio to the ever-mutating sounds of drum & bass and would fuel a burning desire to create their own mutations.
Skip forward 10 years, residing in another drum & bass mecca, Bristol, the trio have learnt their art via bass playing, jazz piano and hard work in the studio. Their combined styles giving a varied output ranging from deep melodic rollers to dance floor crushing bassline smashers.
The trio’s efforts have been heavily rewarded with DJ support from Doc Scott, Loxy, Break, Survival, Pendulum and many others.
Their discography is growing fast with a recent remix by Automonic’s D Bridge, a remix by The Sect, forthcoming collaborations with Survival, Break and Metalheadz’ newest signing Mikal, also forthcoming releases on Ingredients Records, as well as a greatly anticipated remix by Total Science.
They are also nurturing a burgeoning young imprint in the form of ‘Utopia Music’, hotly tipped to be a major player in the future of Drum and Bass, with releases from Break, Survival, D Bridge, The Sect, Villem, Fields and of course Mute & Mako.
