Chestplate presents a pair of crushing singles from one of dubstep's original heavy hitters: Distance. Both tunes have been highly anticipated; with "Menace" having been featured on Caspa's Radio 1 Essential Mix, as well as Pinch's Tectonic Plates Volume 2 mix CD. "Menace" is a mean half-stepper that trudges along with distorted heavy-metal guitars, crisp percussion and dark, grimy synths. It is eclipsed by "Beyond" on the flipside: A truly eyes-down riddim, marching forth into the darkness with its synesthetic tinges of guitar melodies and booming sub-bass.
