Skream EP - DIS 014 -Press sheet

Sunday 17 April 2011

Skream makes a long awaited return to his own Disfigured Dubz imprint with an EP consisting of 4 party bangers. This no holds barred release focuses fully on the dance floor, and seeing as that’s where he’s spending most of his life at the moment, he’s got a pretty good idea of how to get it moving.

A: Hats Off

Hats Off takes us back to the early hardcore days, utilizing the classic amen break, “Burning up” vocal, piano riff and acid section. This is the ultimate feel good tune and Skream has been using it to destroy dance floors and festivals worldwide over the last few months. Dust off your white gloves, clean your whistles and get your hands in the air.

B: Heavy Hitter

Heavy Hitter marches us across an assault course of shifty, low down gritty and grindy basslines. Relentless in its energy levels there’s no let up for the whole duration and once again Skream shows us how a tune like this should be done.

C: Rigging

Just when you thought you couldn’t go any further, Rigging follows on from Heavy Hitter but somehow manages to push the gear up again with a nitro boost. Put your seatbelts and hard hats on for this because it’s a bumpy ride through an lfo workout like no other that will leave you battered and bruised.

D: Sea Sick

This one does exactly what it says in the title, taking you up down left and right and eventually leaving you dazed and confused with no sense of direction. That might not always be a good thing but if your at a rave and in the mood for a party then it certainly is. That’s what this tune was made for and that’s what it does, simple.
